Gary Kern- Board Member
Gary’s folks were subscribers to Civic through most of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. He recently moved back to town so he has been a subscriber for just 1 year. He was in plays as a youth at Civic in the early 1970’s. Typically, those were productions where his Mother was Choreographer. He was Newsboy in “Gypsy”, “Little Jake” in “Annie Get Your Gun”, “Town Kid” in “Music Man”, and he was “Joe Harper” in the Children’s workshop production of “Tom Sawyer”. Recently he has been able to be in shows with his daughter, and being involved with the shows is a great “stress reliever” for him from his day job. His recent shows include: A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Wizard of Oz (Uncle Henry/Gatekeeper), Annie, Jr (Bundles, Bum, Bert Healy, Louis Howe, Ragtime (Willie Conklin, Ensemble rolls). He thinks it’s great to have something that allows local folks to be ‘culturally active’ in our community!

We must work hard to keep it solvent and help it thrive and grow.” She is hopeful that serving on the Board will give her the chance to do her part. She is glad to try to help in this mission because it has meant so much to her family.
