Muncie Civic Theatre and Cornerstone Center for the Arts are partner organizations working to bring theatre opportunties to our community. Cornerstone offers theatre classes and one-time workshops that are offered year-round through a collaboration with Muncie Civic Theatre.

Classes begin the week of January 25-28 and payment plans and financial aid are available for students, college students, and adults. Register online at www.cornerstonearts.org or follow the link below. All classes are held at Cornerstone at 520 East Main Street in Muncie.

Twelve Week Classes 

Youth Drama • 4th - 8th Grade
Wednesday, 4:00 - 5:00 pm • Various Instructors • $75
Explore theatre through games, words, and movement! Acting and performing are part of this great class for students who are new to theatre or who have experience already. At the end of the session, students will perform a class-created skit.

Acting • 9th Grade - Adult
Monday, 5:30 - 6:30 pm • Instructor Robby Tompkins • $75
Learn to create characters and scenes through development, blocking, voice technique, body control, and more! This class is focused both on group and individual settings to help you develop your acting techniques. Selected scenes from various plays will be utilized. Ideal for any experience level.

Stage Combat • 9th Grade - Adult
Wednesday, 5:30 - 6:30 pm • Instructor Robby Tompkins • $75
Learn to create realistic fight scenes on stage as an actor! This class will focus on basic sword and hand-to-hand combat stage fighting techniques to help you broaden your skills as an actor.

Auditions Workshop • All Ages
Saturday, February 27th • Various Instructors • $5
This one-time workshop is designed to prepare you for auditions in every way. You will be taught how to choose and prepare your monologue and song, what to do before, during and after auditions. The group will be broken up by youth and adults so as to get the most out of the afternoon. This is a great way to prepare for Muncie Civic Theatre auditions on March 6th for High School Musical and Blues Clues or any auditions in the coming seasons. Register in advance as space will be limited.
